Driver’s License (Posted 8-27-2010)

Like I hinted at last post, getting a driver’s license isn’t quite as easy in Spain. In fact, our field leader shared with our team, “Those of us who have gone through the process can attest to the fact that it is lengthy and costly…I don’t know what the minimum would be but the reasonable time you can expect is 3-6 months to obtain your license.” 3-6 months!

Obtaining your license consists of two parts: passing theoretical examination (2-4 months of studying and practice test taking) and actual drivers examinations with an instructor (2 months of driving with an instructor). The whole process can be quite taxing.

In order to pass the theoretical exam, our field leader expects us to study 1-3 hours a day for the first few months. This includes taking hundreds of practice tests to memorize all possible questions. The actual driving test can be a challenge as well, especially dependent upon what kind of instructor you have.

We are going to begin the process here soon, so please pray for us!
