Yesterday I (Chad) picked up my autoescuela book, and today I attended my first instructional class. The initial fee covers the cost of the book and any in class sessions you wish to attend.
Unfortunately, my professor speaks incredibly fast, so I spent most of the hour just trying to translate. He probably thought I was extra studious with all my vigorous note taking, but really I was just writing new Spanish vocabulary.
The exercise will be good for language learning and cultural adaptation. As noted, I will be learning a whole different set of fun new vocabulary. And not only is this challenging for me, but it’s quite an experience for any Spaniard to pass this drivers examination. I am entering into one of the challenges for the world of a Spaniard: how in the world do you drive a car.
My plan is to attend one hour of classes a day for the next three months or so, as well as 2 hours of daily study in the book. This is all before I take the actual written examination.
