Which European country has the most mountains? According to John Hooper in the book The New Spaniard, Spain is the second most mountainous country in Europe.
Every time Julie and I have taken a certain route on a major Madrid highway, we look off into the distance at the peaks and think, “Wouldn’t it be nice to visit those.” Well, yesterday we road off to a group of them near a river.
Two things about this trip really surprised me (Chad). First, Julie loves to hike! Why was this news to me?! You should have seen her traverse through some of the rocky pathways; it was impressive. Second, apparently wild, unfenced, and undomesticated cows roam the national parks of Madrid provence. When we would pass the bulls, Julie would make me carry our red beach towels until we got some distance down the path.
