I (Chad) spent the last week with youth from various churches in Alameda de Valle, a small pueblo an hour and a half north of Madrid. The host church for the camp was La Elipa, a church in which our WorldVenture colleagues work very closely with the youth.
The theme of the youth camp was overcoming obstacles in our journey of faith. I had the pleasure of presenting the first Bible lesson on overcoming the obstacle of basic Bible study: my very first lesson in Spanish! I am thankful for the opportunity to have this “first Spanish lesson” under my belt.
As you can imagine, I arrived home pretty spent. Eight days of full time Spanish, alongside of the responsibilities of being a monitor for the youth, was a bit taxing. However, I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything. I still love youth ministry!
