“Mighty to Save” is a song that has been running through my head a lot this past month. We sing it in Spanish in our church. It’s one of the few worship songs I know well in Spanish. We also sang it at a youth event this past month. “Cristo puede mover montes, solo Dios puede salvar, mi Dios puedes salvar.”
I’ve been having goose bumps recently as we sing this song. Maybe it’s because we have been studying Philippians with our small group and focusing on Paul’s priority of the gospel and the need to unite behind the advance of the gospel. Maybe it’s because God is reminding me of His power, and I am starting to see Him at work again in ways that I haven’t seen for years. Maybe it’s because doors are opening for us here and we are becoming more involved in people’s lives and having more opportunities to share the truth of who Jesus is.
I am not exactly sure why, but I do know that I want to shout this truth from rooftops and believe it in the deepest parts of my heart.
He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Author of Salvation
He rose & conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave”
The song also states that Jesus is “the hope of nations.” Oh, how I long for the people of Spain to find hope in Jesus Christ and what a privilege it is for me to participate in what God is doing here!
